THE SKY DIARY

Our Story

Every Day a Sky

  • Ralph Reed began drawing the sky every day on 9/1/1973.
  • With over 17,000 daily drawings, The Sky Diary might be the longest ongoing art piece.
  • Prints are available for you to commemorate your special day.

Make #EverySky

  • Reed intended to draw a sky a day for one year but after 365 skies, he decided he would continue for the rest of his life.
  • The Sky Diary began on 9/1/1973 with 28 skies on a large sheet of paper.
  • To celebrate The Sky Diary's 48 Anniversary, we will attempt to make something every day for 28 skies, and perhaps keep going.

How it works

We'll help you make something every day for 28 days

STEP 1

Pick your Sky

Pick something you think you'll enjoy doing every day for at least 28 days - hopefully longer.

STEP 2

Start on the First

You'll get a daily text message asking you to take a picture of what you made that day.

STEP 3

We tell your Story

If you did something every day for 28 days, we want to celebrate your efforts and help tell your story.
